In a landmark event symbolizing academic growth and collaboration, Prof. K S Chandrasekar, Vice Chancellor of Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ), made his first official visit to Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College, Jammu, today. Accompanying him were Ms. Ankur Mahajan (KAS), Registrar, and Dr. Naveen Anand, Dean Academic Affairs of CLUJ. This visit underscores the university’s commitment to fostering excellence in education and strengthening ties with its constituent colleges.
Prof. (Dr.) Ramesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of GGM Science College, extended a warm welcome to the Vice Chancellor and other dignitaries. He presented a detailed account of the college’s illustrious history, heritage status, and academic offerings, including undergraduate and postgraduate programs. He emphasized the college’s achievements across academics, sports, and literary activities, showcasing its dedication to holistic student development. Dr. Parshotam Thakur, the college’s IQAC Convener, shared a comprehensive overview of departmental activities, ongoing infrastructure enhancements, and the remarkable achievements of students in various domains. He also outlined the diversity of subjects taught at the college, reflecting its commitment to multidisciplinary education.
In his presidential address, Prof. K S Chandrasekar lauded GGM Science College’s efforts in advancing academic standards and infrastructure under the able leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Ramesh Kumar Gupta. He assured the college of the university’s full support in transforming CLUJ and its constituent colleges into centers of academic excellence. The Vice Chancellor encouraged faculty members to actively engage in research projects and explore collaborations with reputed national and international institutions. He proposed initiatives to empower college teachers as research guides and co-guides and emphasized strengthening research infrastructure across CLUJ and its constituent colleges.
