Professor Sunita Sharma took over the charge of Head of Department of Economics, University of Jammu. She succeeded to the post as the 20th Head of the Department in a simple ceremony which took place in the Department of Economics which is one of the oldest and prestigious Departments established in the year 1956.
Hailing from the Village Prem Nagar Miran Sahib, Professor Sunita Sharma has a brilliant academic record to her credit. She is an alumna of the Department where she has completed her M.A. Economics, M.Phil & also the Doctorate of Philosophy in Economics in the year 1994. She joined as Assistant Professor in Department of Economics, University of Jammu in year 2002 and has more than 22 yrs of Gazetted Service to her credit.
Apart from her meritorious academic record, Professor Sunita Sharma has a vast & brilliant research experience of more than 20 yrs. She has attended various workshops, national and international seminars and conferences and has published several books, research papers in national and international journals. Till date she has guided & Supervised more than 32 M.Phil & PhD Scholars. Presently 7 PhD scholars are pursuing their research under her guidance.
