To mark the 150th birth anniversary year of Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi and to make people aware of the use of cleanliness, Plastic and other things concerning environment improvement, a program was held at Government Girls, Higher Secondary School where a cleanliness drive was done to send a positive message to the masses that how cleanliness is useful and what are the consequences when there is no healthy environment?
Former Minister and Ex-MLA Jammu West along with Corporator Ward 24 Anu Bali, Principal Rajni Kotwal and many others including District President BJP Ayodhya Gupta, staff and students participated in the drive. A program was also held after the drive in which pros and cons of Single Use Plastic (SUP) and many other health and environmental issues were discussed. Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that today world is facing a big environmental challenge and it needs to be looked into seriously as what we sow today will be reaped by our future generations.
He said there are big challenges ahead of us and it needs to be faced with a unity amongst us all and the system will improve when we will initiate things ourselves. He appealed the participants to take a sincere pledge to not to make use of things which harms our environment.
Anu Bali focused on the Swach Bharat mission and appealed the participants to spare some of their time everyday to keep their surroundings neat and clean.
District Vice President BJP Urvashi Gupta, Babu Ram Jandiyal, Amit Dutta, Sanjeev Sharma, Rajesh Slathia, Munish Raja and several others were also present.
