POONCH, Oct 24:
In the first match both the teams PSPCL Patiala & EME Jalandhar remained goalless and the match was decided via tie breaker and the PCPCL secured the win 3-2. Karanjeet Singh Maan goal keeper of PSPCL was adjudged the player of the Match. In the second match Punjab and Sind Bank Academy thrashed J&K Police hockey Team by 7-1. In the last match of the day the star studded Punjab Police Team with four Olympians clashed with Khadur Sahib Hockey Academy Team in the well contested match Punjab Police beat Khadur Sahib with a margin of 3-1. Mr Balvinder Singh Chandi (Olympian) was declared Man of the Match. DR Sanjeev ChadHa Chief Engineer PHE was the Chief Guest and S. Taranveer Singh MD Regency Honda was the Guest of honour for the first Match.
Sh Nasir Goni Chief Engineer R&B Jammu was the Chief Guest and S. Biukkram Singh Executive Engineer PWD was the Guest of Honour.
In the lastr of the day Airr Commandore Sh Ajay Singh Pathania VSM was the Chief Guest while S,. Rajinder Singh Tara (KAS) Jt Financial Commissioner J&K was the Guest of Honour.
Today matches were very ably supervised by the NIS Umpires like S. Manjit Singh, Iqbal Singh , Dalbir Mehta, Ashwani Bhatti, S. Karanjit Singh and Tournament Director Satvir Singh Satti.
Prominent among those who witnessed matches today were SSP Jammu S. Tejinder Singh,Sh Gundeep Kumar Ex- Olympian and Coach (PSB), T. P Singh Former National player Waryam Singh vetran of several Nationa Player, S. Avtar Singh, Narinder Singh, S. Satinder Singh Rural Bank and Mr Puri frmer national player.
Two semi final matched are schedule to be played tomorroiw, the first match shall be played between Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd and Panjab and Sind Bank Academy at 1.30 PM. And second semi final shall be played between Punjab Polivce and Surjit Hockey Academy at 3.00
