Principal Police Technical Training Institute Vijaypur Shri Ashok Kumar, JKPS, SSP and staff/ trainees of PTTI observed National Police Day on 21.10.2018 to pay homage to the police martyrs, who laid down their precious lives for the National security and sovereignty of the Country. A large number of police contingents comprising of staff and trainees participated in the Commemoration Day Parade. Inspr. Rajesh Kumar, CDI PTTI Vijaypur was the Parade Commander. SSP Ashok Kumar while speaking on the occasion briefly explained the history behind this National Police Day. He said on 21st of October 1959 when a police party of Central Police Force led by Sub Inspector Karan Singh was on patrolling duty on Indo-Tibtian Border, the Chinese army attacked on the patrolling party. The police party fought bravely, in which 10 police personnel achieved martyrdom. Since this incident, every year Police Commemoration Day is being celebrated all over the Country in the memory of the police martyrs. He said that since 2006 this day is being observed as National Police Day. Principal PTTI Vijaypur also read over the names of 414 police officers/officials including 46 police officers/officials of J&K State who laid down their precious lives in the country during the current year. Lastly Principal, Vice Principal Smt. SavitaParihar SSP, Shri Mukesh Kumar Dy.SP Admn, Shri Karanjit Singh Dy. SP Outdoor, Shri Ajay Punjabi, Dy.SP Tech, Shri RakeshSambyal Dy. SP Indoor, Shri P.P. Singh Sr.PO (PIO), Inspr Manoj Kumar Bali, Inspr. Anil Sagar, Inspector Shri Rajesh Rana (CDI), Inspr.Ashok Singh, Inspr.
Yashpaul Singh, Inspr.Ravinder Singh, Inspector Khushwant Singh, Inspr. Charanjit Singh, Inspr. Ashok Kumar, Inspr. Neeraj Kumar, Inspr. Jatinder Singh, Inspr. Vikas Sharma, all NGOs, staff, trainees, respectable citizens/children of the area laid floral wreaths/showered flowers at the Martyr’s Smark (Samadhi).
