On the eve of Vishwakarma Day , huge Shobha Yatra of Lord Vishwakarma was taken out by PVS J&K, today on 4-1-2018 ( Sunday). Shobha Yatra was flagged off from Gurha Bakshi Nagar Jammu by Chhedi Lal Vishwakarma ( President Akhil Bhartya Vishwakarma Mahasabha- Kolkatta) along with Labha Ram Gandhi (West PAK Refugee leader); Kuldeep Verma & Rashpal Verma (Former V.Cs OBC Board) , Raj Kumar Verma, Corporator.
The colourful Shoba Yatra Passed through Canal Head- Jewal Chowk- Gummat- Raghunath Bazar- City Chowk- Indira Chowk- Medical college and culminated at Gurha Bakshi Nagar Temple.
The Shobha Yatra Dipicted beautifully decorated scenes related to the creations of Lord Vishwakarma like Ram Setu, Creation of Earth, Defence Missiles, Sudershan Chakra & Dwarka Nagari for Lord Krishna, Trishul for Lord Shiva.
Throughout the way, the environment was full of religious Bhajans on loud speakers and slogans like , Vishwakarma Bhagwan Ki Jai and Bhajan Kirtan by ladies. A large number of people including women and children from all parts of Jammu Province participated in the Yatra.
Shobha Yatra was Greeted with stalls of water and eatables by Guru Ravi Dass Sabha at Krishna Nagar, Team Jammu at Jewal and Nek Hotel at Gummat.
On this occasion , Shashi Verma, president of the Pradesh Vishwakarma Sabha thanked all sections of society for their support and reiterated the demand of Holiday on “The Vishwakarma Day”.
Chief Guest , Shri Chhedi Lal Vishwakarma congratulated the people of Jammu for their overwhelming response to such a religious event.
He said, “We are proud to have rich culture and traditions.” Supporting the demand of Holiday on Vishwakarma Day he said that it is legitimate and it has already been given in U.P and many other states.
Shri Raman Chalotra (Youth Wing President), and Rakesh Chalotra (Shakti Nagar unit Prez) , along with their teams of a large number of youth on foot and motor cycles was a special attraction of Yatra. Jhankis from Digiana, Bhagwati Nagar and New Plot were also a part of this Shobha Yatra.
Prominent among others who walked along the Yatra include, Poonam Verma from U.P , Lakhpat Rai ( Retd D.C), Puran Chargotra (Ex-Pres), Rattan Lal Chargotra, Madan Chalotra, Captain Lal Chand , Ramesh Angotra, Rampal Chargotra, Mangaldas Verma, Purshotam Chargotra, Kartar Chand Kathua, Bittu Bhagwati Nagar, Nittu Verma, Rattana Verma, Tara Chargotra
Organisers team included Charanjeet Chargotra , Balwant Kataria, Vinod Jaral, Joginder Angotra, Vijay Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar, Sandeep Chalotra, Om Kataria .
