Ramakrishna Mission Jammu celebrated National Youth Day with great enthusiasm and fervor on 12 January 2025 at Vivekananda Auditorium at Ashram premises.
The National Youth Day on 12th January is celebrated every year in commemoration of Birth Day of Swami Vivekananda, whose unwavering belief in the potential of youth continues to resonate deeply with young citizens of the country.Ramakrishna Mission organised a program to pay tribute to Swami Vivekananda by speeches on his inspiring life, Drama and Musical performances by the students of the colleges Govt. Women College, Parade, Govt. Women College, Gandhinagar, Govt. MAM PG College, Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College, SPMR Commerce College, Govt. Degree College, Paloura, Mishriwala and Institute of Music and Fine Arts. Overall 250 NCC and NSS students and coordinators from 7 colleges participated in the program. All were provided certificates, books and sumptuous lunch. Distinguished guests including Swami Yajnadharananda, Secretary Ramakrishna Mission, Dr. K.S. Chandrasekar, Vice-chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, Squadron Leader Anil Sehgal, Smt. Seema Sehgal, Internationally ren owned singer and Kartikeya Sehgal, Filmmaker graced the occasion by their presence.
The chief guest Dr. KS. Chandrasekar encouraged youths to serve the nation in the footsteps of Swami Vivekananda. He said Swami Vivekananda’s legacy extends far beyond his teachings. Guest of honour Squadron Leader Anil Sehgal inspired Youths to take pride in their cultural heritage and make Vivekananda their role model. He insisted youth to read Vivekananda thoroughly. Seema Sehgal composed and sang inspiring song on Swami Vivekananda. Vocal and sitar performance were displayed by Dr. Suraj Singh and the students from Institute of music and fine arts.
