In collaboration with Ramakrishna Mission Medical Centre, Udheywala, Jammu and Project Poshan ICDS, a holistic nutrition awareness and growth monitoring camp under Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2024 organized by Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu wherein Swami Yajnadharananda, Dr. Vandana Dogra, Medical Superintendent GAH Jammu, Dr. Aruna Bhat Deputy Medical Superintendent GAH delivered awareness lecture on “the principles and practices of Holistic Nutrition and Ayush based dietetics”. Swami Yajnadharananda, Secretary Ramakrishna Mission appreciated the initiative taken by ministry of women and child development and also promise to take part in the activities in future.A team of doctors comprising Dr. Arun Gupta Medical Officer, Dr. Sukhpreet Medical Officer examined 106 children assessed their growth monitoring using Poshan Calculator. Suvarn prashan drops were also provided on the Pushya Naskhatra for physical and mental well-being of children. Free medicines and nutritional supplements to the pregnant women and children. A yoga session was also organized for women wellness IEC material on Anemia Prevention Millets was also distributed among the beneficiaries.
The ultimate goal of Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyan is to achieve improvement in key nutrition parameters for both children and women, making it a people’s movement, or Jan Andolan.
