Actors Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are expected to be reuniting on-screen. If the latest reports are to be believed, then the hit Bollywood pair is going to take over the screens again with filmmaker Luv Ranjan‘s untitled next. The big action drama also features Ajay Devgn in the lead and now reports suggest that Deepika is going to be the leading lady opposite Ranbir in the same film.
As reported by Mumbai Mirror, the makers have finalised on Deepika and the actress has given her nod. However, she will only begin shooting for the film by the year-end, after wrapping up her work on her maiden production — Chhapaak. Deepika is currently shooting for the Meghna Gulzar directorial in Delhi.
The daily quoted a source close to the development saying, “She is currently busy with her first production, Chhapaak, being shot in the capital, while Ajay is wrapping up Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Ranbir is juggling Brahmastra and Shamshera. However, the film is likely to go on the floors only towards the year-end by which time they would have wrapped up their on-going commitments.”
Ranbir and Deepika will be seen together in a feature film after a hiatus of four years. They were last paired by director Imtiaz Ali in his 2015 romantic film Tamasha. The duo was recently papped shooting for a commercial at a famous Mumbai studio. Now, if everything goes as per the plan, the Luv Ranjan’s awaited film will once again bring Ranbir-Deepika to the fore together.
The two once used to date each other. However, now, while Deepika is happily married to actor Ranveer Singh, Ranbir is believed to have a strong relationship with Alia Bhatt. In fact, in one of the episodes on Koffee With Karan 6, when host Karan Johar asked Deepika if she was working with Ranbir, she rolled her eyes and quipped the question. Well, watch out!
