Former Legislator Ch. Vikram Randhawa toured Bhahmana Mohalla Deeli area of Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment where he distributed passbook to various beneficiaries under Jan Dhan Yojana scheme organized by J&K Bank where accounts are opened at zero balance. Jan Dhan Yojana scheme of Modi Govt. is a financial inclusion program of the government of India open to Indian citizens that aim to expand affordable access to financial services such as Bank accounts remittances, credit, insurance, pensions, etc said, Randhawa.
The scheme was launched in August 2014 and according to the Ministry Of Finance, over 4 crore bank accounts have been opened till Sept. 2014. Under PMJDY Zero balance account can be opened by individuals, in case individuals would like to have access to a cheque facility, maintenance of a minimum balance is mandatory. No charge will be levied on the individual to open an account under the PMJDY scheme said, Randhawa.
In his visit to the Bhahmana Mohalla Deeli area, Randhawa also gave a patient hearing towards the grievance of people and look after lane and drain work of the area pending from many times.
