“Refugees Unity Council” leaders EX- Sarpanch Aya Singh ,Ex-Sarpanch Gurdev Singh & President Gurudwara Singh Sabha ,Basti Karan Bagh ,S. Kulbir Singh while addressing media persons, leaders of Refugee unity council” strongly condemned the state Governor’s administrations for its working on BJP & Congress’s shabby & hatred agenda towards POK refugees resulting a motivated & unjustified reservation of their municipal wards as a so-called de-limitation process for proposed Municipal elections.
As a result of unfortunate migration in the year 1947, 36000 refugee families as camping category and 24000 as non camping category have to face the unbearable pains of migration & then insufficient assistance of Indian rulers, leaders of the refugees council expressed. This aggrieved section of POK refugees were settled in Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Nowshehra and Poonch to survive in hardships rather miserable conditions, they added. Even after a continues struggle of 70 years, 40% POK refugee families still have to struggle for basic amenities everywhere and this is slap on the face of our state/Indian rulers, they added.
