To review the arrangements being put in place for smooth and enthusiastic celebration of forthcoming Republic Day in the district, a meeting of the District Officers was convened by District Development Commissioner, Sushma Chauhan, here today.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Arvind Kotwal, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Gupta, PO, ICDS Jyoti Rani Salathia, Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, DPO, DSWO. DIO, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B), PHE, and PDD Division besides other District and sectoral officers attended the meeting.
During the meeting, it was revealed that the main function will be organised in the Sports Stadium where the chief guest will unfurl the Tricolor and take salute at the March past contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, FPF, NCC and school children, besides a colorful cultural programme will also be presented by the school children in collaboration with Cultural Academy.
For supervision of the arrangements, the DDC ordered constitution of a committee of officers under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner comprising the members from Police, Army, PWD and other Departments.
Various other necessary arrangements were also discussed in the meeting including security, drinking water facility at the venue, cleanliness and sanitation, seating arrangement, traffic management, power supply etc.
The DDC directed XEn PDD and EO Municipality to replace/ repair all the street / flood lights in the town, besides ensuring installation of adequate lighting at the venue of celebration. She also enjoined upon the officers to recommend the names of those officials who have performed their duties exceptionally well so that they are honored with citation certificates on the occasion.
It was also revealed that the Republic Day full dress rehearsal will be held on 24th of January 2019.
