A month has passed since the gruesome crime and Kolkata is still in shock with the rest of the nation.Actress Rituparna Sengupta, who is to Bengal what Vidya Balan is to Bollywood, can’t get over the sheer barbarism of it. “It is absolutely inconceivable. Being in such a noble profession… a doctor becomes a corpse, murdered and raped by the masterminds… or should I say, monster-minds!! We are living in a society full of insecurities and insanity. Our generation is grieving. Seeing the worse of demented barbaric behaviour. What are we teaching our next generation? Are we handing down any legacy close to positive? No, it’s only ugliness perversion and cruelty.”The actress added, “We are waiting for justice. A punishment which will make the rapists, molesters and murderers won’t even have the ability to even think of doing something like this. The protests will continue. We are all voicing our grievances. But we are helpless. We are getting disillusioned. In one’s workplace in one’s own institution… everyday everywhere this is happening.”
