Ramakrishna Mission Medical Centre organised a free cardiac awareness cum health checkup camp here on Sunday.
The camp, which took place at the Ramakrishna Mission Medical Centre in Udheywala, Jammu, held from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM in which renowned cardiologist Dr. Sushil Sharma, Head of the Cardiology Department at Government Medical College Hospital & Super Speciality Hospital (GMCH & SSH), Jammu, examined the patients.
This health initiative aims to promote greater awareness of cardiac health while providing free medical consultations and essential diagnostic services to the local community. Dr. Sushil Sharma, with his vast expertise in cardiology, led the camp, offering expert consultation and guiding patients on heart health. Participants will benefit from various free diagnostic services, including Fibroscan, ECG, and blood sugar testing.
In addition to cardiac health, the camp provided free consultations across several medical disciplines such as physicians from allopathy, dental surgeons, gynaecologists, eye specialists, and physiotherapists. Furthermore, the Department of Ayush, through the Government Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu, offered free consultations with Ayurvedic doctors Dr. Arun Gupta and Dr. Shivani Padha, and distributed free medicines to all, further reinforcing the holistic approach to healthcare.
A total 243 of patients benefited from the expertise of 11 doctors at this camp.
Distinguished guests including Mr. Ram Swaroop, Executive Director, NHPC and the administrative team of NHPC graced the event with their presence.
Mr. Ram Swaroop ji commended the Centre’s efforts in alignment with Swami Vivekananda’s vision and urged public support for such humanitarian initiatives. He also came forward to help us in any way possible.
The camp also facilitated 50 Fibroscan tests, 60 free blood sugar tests and distributed medicines free of charge.
Swami Yajnadharananda, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu, highlighted the organization’s commitment to the ideals of Sri Ramakrishna Dev, Maa Sarada, and Swami Vivekananda, emphasizing service to humanity as a form of divine worship. He also announced plans to organize such free camps monthly.
