MLA Akhnoor, Shri Mohan Lal Bhagat, inaugurated the macadamization (tarring) work near Vishwakarma Mandir on the Akhnoor–Sungal main road, along with another link road project from the residence of Ashok Bhagat to Mohalla Rameshwar Dass.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mandal President Shamsher Dass, former Sarpanch Rampal Sharma, former Sarpanch Kuldeep Singh, former Sarpanch Shamsher Singh, former Councillor Rakesh Malhotra, Jagdish Singh, Darshan Singh, Capt. Sham Lal, Babu Ram, Sandesh, Jagdish, Yashpal, Shakti Bhagat, and several prominent BJP workers.
Local residents expressed gratitude to MLA Mohan Lal, highlighting that the road had remained in a severely damaged condition for a long time, leading to frequent accidents, including one tragic incident in which a young man lost his life. Responding to the persistent public demand, MLA Mohan Lal ensured that the project was sanctioned and executed.
According to official details, macadamization work on a 150-meter stretch of the Akhnoor–Sungal main road is being carried out at an estimated cost of ?6.05 lakh. The second project, covering the link road from the house of Ashok Bhagat to Mohalla Rameshwar Dass, is being executed at a cost of ?4.95 lakh.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Mohan Lal Bhagat announced that development projects worth nearly ?8 crore will be undertaken under the Public Works Department (PWD) in the Akhnoor Assembly Constituency. He stated that all works will be completed on a priority basis to ensure better road connectivity and infrastructure for the public.
He further emphasized that the government is committed to delivering quality roads and infrastructure facilities in every village and ward of the constituency. The MLA also directed officials to maintain transparency and ensure high standards of quality in every developmental project.
The event was also attended by PWD Executive Engineer Er. Sunil Sharma, Assistant Executive Engineer Er. Sunil Bogia, and several other departmental officials.
