Continuing its special derives for empowerment of civil societies the IRP 12th Battalion organised Rock Climbing Program under Civic Action Programme to promote and hone the skills of talented youth of Jammu and Kashmir. Continuing with its endeavour Jammu and Kashmir Police has decided to organize Rock Climbing Camp of 100 hundred students in coordination with Guidance and Counselling for Youth Development (an NGO of Gurah Slathia Vijaypur District Samba) under Civic Action Programme 2020-21 w.e.f 30st Jan to 31st at Rock Area Nud Samba. This camp was conducted by Mountain Rescue Team of J&K Police headed by Inspector Ram Singh (Everestor).
Interacting with the participating children, the officers of the unit apprised them that it will be a great fun and experience for them to climb the rocks and other allied activities viz Free Hand Climbing, Rappling, Zip wire, Burma Bridge, Slathering etc. and use of most modern equipments of mountain rescue.
It was also stressed upon the participants to make maximum use of the opportunity to learn the skills and endurance during the camp which boost your confidence and makes you prepare for the next height and challenge. T-shirts were distributed among the participant students and they will also provided security, transport and food during the camp by IRP 12th Bn.
The children were also advised to strictly follow the SOPs/ guidelines during their camp to contain the spread of COVID-19. On second and last day of the course, the program concluded in simple and effective way with the good gesture and bright future of the students. The participants were awarded with merit and participation certificates.
