New Delhi, NOV 20 :
The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is going to launch tomorrow. Rumour has it that its new petrol engine will deliver over 19kmpl of fuel efficiency and the diesel engine will be rated for over 25kmpl. That would make the new 2018 Ertiga more fuel efficient that its outgoing version.
The Maruti MPV is going to get the new 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine that debuted in India with the Maruti Ciaz facelift. While the earlier 1.4-litre petrol engine churned out 92.4PS@6000rpm of power and 130Nm@4000rpm of torque, the new one’s performance figures (on the Ciaz) are much better at 104.7PS@ and 138Nm@4400rpm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission option is standard, with a 4-speed automatic coming as optional on the petrol.
Thanks to the SHVS technology (on both the 1.3-litre, four-cylinder diesel and the new 1.5-litre petrol engine) and lower weight (expected), the claimed fuel efficiency figures of the new Ertiga 2018 seem to have increased compared to the older model. Here’s how different the new Ertiga’s mileage figures are from its predecessor.
Based on the rumoured claimed fuel efficiency figures, the Maruti Ertiga’s new petrol engine should now run almost 2km per litre more than the outgoing version, but when coupled with an automatic it would stay at around 1.66 kmpl higher.
