SAMBA, June, 10: –
Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh has demanded revamp of developmental activities in Parmandal Block in Samba District.
As per a press release, the Former Minister chaired a meeting at Utter Behni area in Parmandal in which he was informed about various issues being confronted by the residents.
Addressing the meeting, S. Manjit Singh said that the development has stopped in the Parmandal Block, particularly in Utter Behni where the religious tourists visit.
“The developmental activities apparently have no priority for the authorities in Utter Behni although the area has prime importance to attract religious tourists from across Jammu and Kashmir as well as across the country,” he said, expressing concern over the poor condition of roads, lanes, and drains.
He said that the issue multiplies with the irregular supply of drinking water supply and unscheduled power cuts in the area especially when the heatwave has gripped the region.
He said that the authorities should fix the issues being faced by the people, but it appears that the concerned departments hardly listen to the public grievances and the Govt lacks the accountability of the officials, who are responsible to provide basic amenities and ensure all round development.
Welcoming the initiative for holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, he said that the elected Govt will provide a relief to the general masses.
“At present, the people are not being given heed by the authorities.
The developmental activities have been hampered because the officials are not held accountability for their poor performance,” he added.
He said that if the Apni Party forms the next Govt in Jammu and Kashmir, the Party would ensure speed up of the pending developmental works equally in all the areas, and regions.
