S. Vasudevan, a leading entrepreneur of South India, sports lover in general and volleyball in particular, has assumed the charge of President of Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) till 2021, an apex body for promotion of volleyball in India and abroad in a function held at Chennai.
After two years of skirmish in litigations, Delhi High Court in its landmark judgment has upheld the appointment Shri Vasudevan as President Volleyball Federation of India quashing thereof the appointment of Mr. Chaudhary Avadhesh Kumar as President as per elections held on April 11, 2016 at Chennai under the supervision of Arbitrator Shri K. Chandroo (Retd. Judge) of Madras High Court.
In light of Delhi High Court decision-now all is set to streamline the functioning of VFI which was being hampered with one pretext or the other for the last two years.
The clearance of Indian volleyball teams in various world volleyball championships participation remained an uphill task for Volleyball Federation of India in these two years.
However with this historic decision the Volleyball Federation of India has geared up its activities fully. Besides president, Ramavtar Singh Jakhar Secretary General Volleyball Federation of India- a reputed international volleyball player and dedicated office bearer and other teams members are working hard round the clock to establish new heights in volleyball game in making it very popular among the masses with the launch of Pro-Volleyball League on the pattern of IPL in India.
The office bearers of Volleyball Association of J&K headed by Sh. Raj Daluja Patron-in-Chief, Sh. Sidharth Daluja President Volleyball Association of J&K congratulated Sh. S. Vasudevan President Volleyball Federation of India for assuming the charge and assured full co-oporation to his teams as well as Shri Ramavtar Singh Jakhar Secretary General of Volleyball Federation of India in their endeavours for nourishment and promotion of volleyball game.
