Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar announced that the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation (STF) has joined hands with the Gates Foundation and the Government of Meghalaya to work towards a “healthier future for children”. Sachin announced the same on his official X handle. “A step forward in our journey as Sachin Tendulkar Foundation, Gates Foundation and the Government of Meghalaya partner to work together to support a healthier future for children. As we spent time with the lively communities of Meghalaya, we were reminded that real change takes root when compassion and action come together. The strength of children, the resilience of families, and the dedication of local teams continue to inspire us as we embark on this journey with a shared vision.” It was in 2023 that Anjali and Sachin Tendulkar met Bill Gates during the latter’s visit to Mumbai. They found common ground in their thoughts on philanthropy and child health giving shape to a collaboration between the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation (STF) and the Gates Foundation (GF) to support holistic growth of children, according to a release from STF.
The collaboration was formalised recently when the STF and GF signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly tackle issues in healthcare, nutrition, education, and rural development, with a particular emphasis on those impacting children.
