Pointing towards the most amazing disclosure made by the constitutional head of J&K state in an interview to a TV channel and reported in the local media, regarding the replacement of 582 youth selected by J&K Bank by political appointees, the member of National Secular Forum (NSF) today strong protest demonstration against Chairman JK Bank and demands removal of JK Bank Chairman immediately for free and fair probe. Addressing the gathering here today, State Chief National Secular Forum (NSF) Dr Vikas Sharma said that JK Bank Chairman’s statement to Governor in which he unveiled that all the 582 recruitments had been replaced with relatives and workers of political parties recommended by the leaders of every constituency seems quite immature or he is trying to save himself or befooling Governor by becoming approver. “Mr. Parvez Ahmed said that he did that as he was told to appoint political workers but if he was that honest person then, he must have resigned from his chair on moral values but he did not take any such step. He further said that the factors of transparency and accountability are disappeared as J&K Bank never gives information under Right to Information (RTI) Act; on the contrary Bank gives weird excuses and says that RTI is not applicable on it. “It is quite difficult to understand that how a bank could deny information whose chairman is chosen by Government. He said that corrupt politicians in league with certain reckless officers had blown to smithereens all rules, regulations and procedure on the subject and appointed several thousands of blue eyed candidates in govt services on monetary and other extraneous considerations which needed a CBI probe.
Strongly flaying the appointments scams of gargantuan proportions in the erstwhile govt, Dr Vikas said that the PSC had all along remained in the centre of controversy in the past with educated unemployed youth and civil society having launched mass protests against it alleging massive irregularities and bungling in the process of selections. He said that it was highly opprobrious that even KAS officers were appointed through backdoor in the previous govt thus adding to the most glaring ignominy of the highly scandalous selections.
Dr. Vikas Sharma, State President National Secular Forum(NSF) further said that scam in bank recruitment and scandalous approach of state government high officials in launching medical insurance policy on extraneous consideration are just the beginning of numerous scandals in various government departments, especially in Jammu University and Central University Jammu where Vice Chancellors run administrative affairs of universities on their own whims and vagaries and hoodwink the higher stare administrative authorities and Chancellor of universities by misguiding them.
Dr. Vikas pointed out that a number of irregularities have been committed in Central University and Jammu University in making appointments and construction works with impunity, but no action was taken by outgoing Governor of the state despite knowing the facts through print media from time to time.
Dr. Vikas demanded that full-fledged commission may be constituted to probe and bring out numerous recruitments, construction works and promotion scams dumped in the records of Jammu and Central Universities by Ex VC Prof Ramji Dass Sharma and CUJ VC Prof Ashok Aima.
Seeking a CBI probe into all appointments made during the BJP-PDP rule in the state, Dr Sharma called for start of criminal proceedings and strict disciplinary action against all bureaucrats and politicians involved in the biggest ever appointments scam in the history of the state.
Among those who were present in the protest included, Pushpinder Singh, Rishikesh Rana, Mashkoor ilahi khans, Ishtiaq Naik, Anshu Sharma, Surjit Kumar, Saket Rathor, Sheetal, Vikas Kumar and others.
