Sadguru of Sahib Bandagi Shri Madhuparamhans Ji Maharaj on this day 23 August 1985 started spreading true devotion in the world for the first time from Ranjdi, Jammu. A saint comes to this world with the message of the true man to free the living beings from the trap of death. Just as one Hanuman was enough to burn Ravana’s Lanka and take Sita ji with him, carrying the message of Lord Ram. Many Hanumans were not needed. Similarly, a saint comes to this world with the message of the true man to free the living beings from the demon in the form of death. A crowd of saints does not come with his message. It is also mentioned in the prophecy of Kabir Sahib that the welfare of living beings will be started from here next time.
In the beginning, people of different castes like Shivdas Bhagat, Milkharam, etc. from Ranjdi and nearby villages joined you. You started spreading the message of true devotion by going beyond caste, community and religion. As per the words of your Sadguru Swami Girdharanand Paramhans Ji, you never asked anyone’s caste and then gave their name. Since there were more people from Bhagat community, people initially thought you were a Guru of a lower caste. Being above caste, Kabir Sahib’s teachings were adopted mostly by people from lower castes. You broke this myth and gave names to about 5 lakh Brahmins, same number of Kshatriyas, same number of Mahajans and people from lower castes. You explained Kabir Sahib’s message to everyone equally. Like true saints, you did not differentiate on the basis of religion. Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, all are your disciples.
You started from a hut in Ranjdi and today there are more than 400 ashrams in the whole country, more than 22 lakh disciples and abroad also you have disciples in countries like Japan, America, Nepal, Ukraine etc. Today when Ranjdi has become the biggest religious place of Jammu, where there is facility to accommodate up to 1 lakh people, you still live in the same hut. You served the country by serving in the army for 24 years from 1967 to 1991. Then you started working for the welfare of the living beings.
From the very beginning, you had to face severe criticism and opposition. People whose businesses were hurt by you, all started criticizing you. For example, the wise people criticized you severely. Because in the beginning, when hundreds of people with ghost and spirit problems came to you and got completely cured after getting the true name, people first considered you to be wise.
Then you explained the teachings of true saints. Everyone was roaming around as saints. That is why they also started criticizing you. You gave the secret of the true name. You told that the name which people of the world know is not the true name. There are thousands of such names in the books. Then what was the need of a Sadguru? You explained that the true name cannot be said or heard. A Sadguru is one who has found the true man, knows the true man. He merges in that true man and provides his rays to the disciple, that is the name. That name is the true man himself. By any other name the living beings cannot cross the ocean of the world. No one else understood this because no one has reached there, no one knows him. Only some people speak about it after reading in books. That is why everyone started opposing. This criticism of saints has been happening and will continue to happen because of this very reason.
A saint comes into the world for the welfare of living beings by the wish of the true man. Herds of saints do not come. That saint Sadguru has the true name of the true man, which other gurus do not have. That is why you had written in a diary that the thing that I have, no one in the universe has it. A disciple saw that diary and then everyone came to know about it.
You did not only give the message of true devotion. You are also a social worker. You also did the work of social reform. You did the work of social reform by making rules like not drinking alcohol, not eating meat, not going towards another woman, not gambling, not stealing, eating the earnings of the right etc. You got thousands of girls married. You never showed your powers to the world.
You never told the whole story of who you are. The thing that you have is not found anywhere else in the universe, this too was told to everyone by your disciple after reading it from your diary. Whenever there were natural disasters in the world, your ashrams in every corner of the country never suffered any damage. You also helped everyone affected by disasters. When the outbreak of Covid spread, you converted your 3 ashrams into Covid centres and whenever there was a disaster anywhere in India, you opened langars at various places and these langars were run for months, not just 1-2 days or weeks.
