The way the Pak sponsored militants have succeeded in stepping up the acts of terror even in the month of Ramzan may prove a big challenge in ensuring the safety of pilgrims, both KPs for khir bhwani mela and Shri Amarnath Yatra. Going by the
high profile terror attack on a senior journalist Shujat Bhukari and two of his PSOs killing them and shooting of Aurangjeb, a beltforce personnel on the last day of
holy month of ramzan shows the forthcoming challenge for ensuring the safety and security to the pilgrims. Earlier too during the conditional ceasefire the militants stepped up militant attack numbering about sixty acts in which about two dozen militants, nine security personnel and other six people have lost lives. However, centre govt’s decision to relaunch all out operation fiercely and deployment of more security forces companies to meet the challenge may boost the morale of the pilgrims. Kashmiri Pandit devotees are all set to visit the deity of maa khirbhawani at Tulmula and four other maa asthapans on June 19 and 20 to pay obesiences to Goddess Ragenya who is worshipped as maa Khirbhawani by Kashmiri Pandits. Thousand of KP devotees are expected to visit their homeland.It is pertinent to mention that the occasion also provide an opportunity to pay their obeisances to their motherland from whom they were hounded out about three decades ago. Even the new generations get an opportunity to have a eternal glance of their motherland.
It is for the first time that Khirbhawani mela is being celebrated in the five asthapans of Maa Ragenya. It is believed in Kashmiri Pandits that about five thousand years ago Maa Ragenya had come to Kashmir on the instructions of Lord Rama. Hanuman ji had carried him on his back and first of all took rest at Devsar in Kulgam district. Then he took her to Tripur Sundri, Tikker, Laktipora and Mauzgam. Finally she was laid to reside in Tulmula where she is worshipped as Maa Khirbhawani. In other asthapans too she was worshipped as maa Khirbhawani.
Earlier, the Kashmir administration had resorted to multiple arrangements for providing all sorts of facilities to the devotees visiting the shrine.The authorities have established Joint Control Room in every asthapan area. The free transport facilities have been provided to the devotees coming from the displaces colonies established in various parts of Kashmir. Five critical care ambulances have been pressed in service for the devotees. All the devotees coming from Jammu and Delhi will travel under the eye of CCTV cameras.
Though the central government has raised the number of CRPF companies upto 238 and introduced a new radio tag system on the buses and mini buses carrying the devotees of Shri Baba Amarnath Yatra, beside installing of CCTV cameras in the buses taking lessons from the last year’s attack on the bus carrying

Amarnath pilgrims in which ten were killed. Keeping in view the forthcoming yatras the security agencies have to act tough with the miscreants and militants because of
recent setback for security which was exposed when in the heart of city in the premises of press enclave, Srinagar one Chief Editor of Kashmir Rising news paper was killed along with his two SPOs which finger up towards the security scenerio that how they entered in Press enclave with arms on a single bike to the planned place and after finishing their task all the three terrorists fled from the seen very easily and on same day a brave soldier Rifleman Auranzeb was kidnapped in the Shopian area and then was bruitly killed.
Let us wait and watch that how the security agencies tackle their responsibilities for safe guard of yataris.
