JAMMU, Sept 29:
The SAI Club and NIS Club won their respective matches to move closer to the title clash in the two-day Jammu District Kho-Kho Championship got underway at Green Fields ground, here today.
While SAI Club defeated Parade Club 8-5, the NIS Club outplayed Akhnoor club 10-05. In another scheduled match, Simbal Camp outplayed New Era 17-10.
Meanwhile, in the men’s section, Bhalwal Club defeated New Era Club 7-4 and Parivartan Club outplayed Sunjwan Club 10-05. Earlier, the championship was declared open by treasurer Kho-Kho Federation of India, BS Tirthi who welcomed the teams from different clubs and institutions.
Among others present were general secretary of J&K Kho-Kho Associ ation, Harjeet Singh, Gagan Kumar and Dalbir Mehta.
In all, 15 teams are taking part in this competition. The finals have been scheduled for tomorrow. While the women’s final shall be played at 3 pm the men’s final shall take place at 4 pm.
Today’s matches officiated by the technical penal including Ajay Gupta, Anil Sharma, Dheeraj Sharma, Amrinder Singh and Vishal Malhotra. Present among others were Gen.Sec.Harjeet Singh, Gagan Kumar, Dalbir Mehta(Observer J&K State Sports Council) and the tournament is being .
