JAMMU, Aug 29:
Sports Authority of India (SAI) today observed National Sports Day and paid rich tributes to Hockey legend, Major Dhayan Chand at K K Hakhu Stadium, here.
Senior Manager of the J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC), Ashok Singh spoke on the occasion highlighting the importance of observing the National Sports Day.
Incharge Sports Training Centre (STC), SAI, Jammu, Varinder Sharma was special guest while Varun Singh (a National player) was guest of honour in the function.
Among others present were Aman Sharma (SAI Basketball coach), Dev Raj (SAI Handball coach), Satpal Sharma (SAI Badminton coach), Rajeev Dogra (SAI Volleyball coach), Vikram Saini (SAI Badminton coach), Kalyani Dwivedi (SAI Wushu coach), Joginder Singh (Hockey coach of JKSSC), Jagjit Singh (Hockey coach of JKSSC) and Gopal Das (JKSSC).
