Samba DDC reviews implementation of PMEGP

District Task Force Committee (DTFC) headed by District Development Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, today reviewed various issues with regard to the implementation of Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). The meeting also examined the fresh cases and accorded sanction to 93 project proposals. The committee discussed eligibility for seeking the benefits of the self-employment scheme, the methodology for identification of beneficiaries, assessment of the viability of the project proposal, the mechanism adopted by each agency to avoid frivolous applications and the plan chalked out by them for equitable distribution of projects, area wise. The meeting stressed on maintaining coordination of sponsoring agencies with banks, justification of the project cost to avoid exaggeration by the applicant to avail high amount of subsidy and to have a discourse on monitoring of projects authorised by DLTFC.
Meanwhile, the DLTFC sanctioned 93 fresh cases. The approved PMEGP cases included 36 those sponsored by DIC Samba, 19 by KVIB and 38 by KVIC. Seeking effective implementation of PMEGP, the DDC said that coordination among different stakeholders is prerequisite to devise a proper mechanism for identification of actual beneficiaries. He asked for preliminary scrutiny of the cases at agency level and said that maximum youth should be covered under the scheme in the district.
General Manager District Industries Centre, Sansar Chand, Lead district Manager Ajay Koul, District officer of KVIB Paramjeet Singh and representatives of KVIC, besides other officials attended the meeting.
