Samsung launches Galaxy S9+ Sunrise Gold Edition in India

As expected, Samsung has launched a new colour variant for its flagship smartphone, Galaxy S9+ in India on Friday (June 15). The new smartphone is called ‘Sunrise Gold Edition’. It has also announced the availability of a unified mobile to TV convergence solution as a part of its SmartThings app.
Samsung Galaxy S9+ Sunrise Gold Edition is said to be available in 128GB inbuilt storage variant only and is also the company’s first to feature a satin gloss finish. Samsung aims to make the device appealing to millennial based on the looks and the design. it is priced at Rs 68,900 and will be available from retail stores starting June 20. For now, you can pre-book the device from Samsung Shop and Flipkart.
“The unique Sunrise Gold colour embodies class, with a modern and vibrant look, which helps young millennials stand out. Available in the 128GB memory variant, the Sunrise Gold edition of Galaxy S9+ is Samsung’s first device to feature a satin gloss finish which wraps the smartphone in an elegant glow and glimmer. This sophisticated finish was developed to appeal to all users by bringing a stylistic touch of high fashion and urban interior design to a user’s mobile device,” says the release.
Besides the look, everything else including the specifications stay the same. The smartphone has a 6.2-inch Quad HD + Curved Super AMOLED screen with ‘Infinity Edge’ display and 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 9810 processor alongside 6GB RAM. There is also a dual rear camera setup that includes two 12MP modules out of which one is a telephoto lens and other is a wide-angle lens. This one also comes with an 8MP front snapper. It is backed by a 3500mAh battery and supports fast wireless charging.
The Galaxy S9 and the S9+ currently come in Midnight Black, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple. It launched in India back in March this year.
Besides the new Samsung Galaxy S9+ Sunrise Gold Edition, the company has also introduced a TV Control widget, which offers ‘a one-of-its-kind unified convergence solution between mobiles and televisions.’ It can be enabled using the SmartThings app, using which people can mirror audio and videos on the nearby TV.
