Sat launches JMC’s mega plantation drive at Ward 8

A mega plantation drive was organized by JMC (Jammu Municipal Corporation) which was started from Ward 8 under the supervision of Corporator Dr Akshay Sharma. Hundreds of saplings were planted in different areas of the ward and everyone pledged to save the environment by motivating others as well. Former Minister and Ex-MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) was the main guest in the plantation drive and he was also accompanied by a number of JMC officials including JMC Secretary Sunaina Sharma, Health Officer Dr Saleem, Veterinary officer Dr Zaffer, AEE Ashok Sharma and many others including political and social activists of the area.
The plantation drive was started from Brig. Rainder Singh Chowk and moving towards various places, the plantation drive culminated near MLA Hostel where the participants planted hundreds of saplings and swore to protect the environment.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma appreciated the efforts of JMC and Corporator Ward 8 in promoting a clean and green environment and also encouraged others to follow the same and increase the cover of Green in Jammu by planting more and more trees.
He also emphasized on the importance of protecting the environment and stated that it is the duty of every individual to take care of our environment and preserving it for the future generations.
Dr Akshay said that Good life will come only when we have a healthy environment to live in. He also urged every citizen to plant a tree in the name of each child in their family for a better future.
Munish Khajuria, Suresh Salgotra, Ramesh Sharma, Raman Sharma, Deepak Kumar, Bunty kumar, Bishen Dass, Raghuvir Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Raman Dhiman, Gurbaksh Singh and several others were also present during the plantation drive.
