To enhance the infrastructural development of Jammu West, Minister for Housing and Urban Development and MLA Sat Sharma (CA) started macdamization of road from Rajpura behind Education Board to Shakti Nagar AG office road covering three wards of the Assembly segment.
Accompanied by a large number of people including PWD officials, local residents of the area, many social and political activists of the area were also present on the occasion.
The Blacktopping works will be done under the supervision of PWD and the cost of the works is estimated at Rupees 1 crore and 77 lakhs and a strectch of almost 10 kilometres will be covered under the same which also includes internal lanes and by lanes as well besides the main road.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that in the past couple of years a lot of government projects have been initiated and completed in Jammu West constituency which has helped in the over all development of the area. The constituency has progressed with these works.
He also stated that in coming days the pending works for Black Topping of roads will also be taken up by the concerned department in order to provide best connectivity of roads.
He stated that works pertaining to Black Topping of remaining main and link roads, construction of lanes and drains in other areas of Jammu West, commissioning and installation of transformers by PDD , rehabilitation and commissioning of water pipes laid by ERA, improvement in sanitation system, benefits of social welfare schemes to common man and other necessities will be focused upon to bloom Jammu West as a model Constituency.
He also appealed the masses to contribute in the noble cause by promoting the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of building a “Clean and Green nation” and requested everyone to spare some time to contribute in the noble initiative.
