Former Minister J&K and Senior Congress Leader, Yogesh Sawhney, on Wednesday, met with the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Jammu and Kashmir, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, to discuss crucial developmental concerns in the Jammu East constituency. The focus of the discussion was on improving road connectivity and addressing pressing issues related to the Public Works Department (PWD). During the meeting, Sawhney highlighted several significant matters affecting local residents, seeking immediate intervention and resolution. He was accompanied by a delegation of the local people and representatives to raise important local issues. The Deputy Chief Minister assured that all the raised concerns will be thoroughly reviewed and addressed promptly. Speaking on the occasion, Sawhney expressed optimism that these long-pending issues will soon be addressed, and appreciated the Deputy Chief Minister’s proactive response. He further added that these concerns are critical for the development and welfare of the people of Jammu East. We are confident that with the Deputy CM’s intervention, the necessary steps will be taken without further delay, Sawhney said. Many of the issues concerning Jammu East have been left neglated in the past due to which the infrastructure, PWD projects, development projects are in a dire state in the area and hundreds of families are affected by these hindrances everyday. Key issues highlighted by Sawhney during the meeting included Tootan Di Khui to Sandi road under PMDP where work has been halted by ERA department for over 2 years, 3 km road construction from Panchayat Khanna Chargal (Dagore to Pundar), road development from Aitham to Said Jagir under PMGSY Scheme, impacting 250 families, and road project of Mohalla Basant Singh Chabba to Raj Singh House road affecting 500 residents. He also discussed the construction of a track from foot bridge at Katal Batal to Bhair Devsthan at Katal Batal and requested upgrading the Surjwan-Chatta-Sandi road from kachha to pakka road for better accessibility, and requested for resolving the dispensary issue in Sandi to improve healthcare services.
