JAMMU, July 26:
Dogra Educational Trust, Bari Brahmana organised Kargil Vijay Diwas celebration to commemorate the victory of Indian Armed Forces over intruder Pakistani Army in the year 1999. Indian Army duly supported by Indian Air Force defeated the enemy forces and proudly hoisted the Tricolour on top of “Tiger Hill” thus declaring complete ‘Vijay’ of Indian Army. Every year 26th July is celebrated as ‘Vijay Diwas’ in honour of Kargil War Heroes. At Dogra Educational Campus, Bari Brahmana an impressive ceremony was presided over by Th. Gulchain Singh Charak Former Minister, President Dogra Sadar Sabha and Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust. Col. Dharmendra Panday, Commanding Officer, J&K Armed Squadron NCC was present during the function. Students participated with enthusiasm and sang patriotic songs. Col. Pandey in his address talked about the significance of Kargil War and told everyone about the valour and sacrifices made by our soldiers. He motivated the students to join the Defence Forces and serve the nation. Th. Gulchain Singh Charak in his presidential address glorified the bravery of our soldiers and encouraged all the students to comeforward and join Indian Armed Forces, so that they can serve their motherland. On this occasion the Chairman, also announced a scholarship scheme for the wards of war widows and martyrs. Kr SamarDev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust, Kr GambhirDev Singh Charak Trustee, Dogra Educational Trust, Col (Dr) K.N Padha Director, Admn&CD Dr Vikesh Kr Sharma Principal Dogra College of Education Ms Bela Thakur Principal Dogra Degree College and Ms.Komila Aggarwal officiating Principal Dogra Law College were present during the celebrations. Staff and students from all the three colleges were present during the ceremony. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms.Supreet Kour, lecturer Dogra Law College and the function was compered by Ms.Puneet Kour, Lecturer Dogra Degree College.
