Seminar on “SVEEP” organized at Jandrah

17Dec, Regional outreach Bureau Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Govt. Of India, Field outreach Bureau Anantnag in close coordination and Guidance of Assistant Commissioner Nazool Sr. Jasmeet Singh (KAS) organize a “Seminar” on the theme Systematically Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) at Govt. Higher Secondary School Jandrah. The main objective of SVEEP program is to inform and educate people about the importance of voting and to motivate voters. The Election Commission of India is hoping to make Indian Democracy more participative through SVEEP. It is designed based on the socio-economic and demographic profile of that Region.
Sh. Anil Sharma (Sarpanch) Jandrah who was special guest during the program In his address stressed upon audience not to vote on the basis of Religion, cast and Creed as it has a very vital effect on whole community one should not vote for a persons who divide the people on communal basis for his own interest. Every single vote is important to stronger democracy. He appreciated the efforts of Regional outreach Bureau for organizing this program in remote corner of District Jammu and demand more such programs for future also.
Principal Higher Secondary School Jandrah Sh. Sunil Nanda briefed the audience regarding the right use of their right to vote so that they could elect the dedicated and loyal candidates to serve the nation.
He motivated the young voters of the college and staff members in respect of the right use of their vote. He also encouraged the staff members and students of the School to create awareness regarding the right use of their vote among the people living in far flung and remote area. During the program all staff members and students took the pledge to uphold the democratic traditions of our country and the dignity of free, fair and peaceful elections, and to vote in every election fearlessly and without being influenced by consideration of religion, race, caste, community, language or any inducement.
While interacting with audience Prof. Sunil Sharma (Resource person/ expert Guest) of Govt. Degree Collage Jandrah. Said that the program is aimed to educate the target population about voter’s registration entire electoral process and related matters by engaging them through well designed attractive resources. He further added that increase in registration among the target audience especially higher electoral participation ratio in the 18-19 years age cohort in the other objective.
A cultural Program, Seminar, skit and a pledge was main attraction of the program in the end students and other participants were facilitated accordingly by organizing department.
