JAMMU, Feb 09:
Semifinals position has been cleared with the entry of Sports Training Centre (STC), Sampark Club, Sandeep Pal Club and R L Pissu Club in the last four stages of the Jammu District Handball Championship, organised by J&K Handball Association at MA Stadium, here today.
In women’s section, Sandeep Pal Club and Bahu Club have made it to the semifinals winning their respective matches of this knock-out competition.
Earlier, the competition was declared open by former India captain and Superintendent of J&K Police, Ranjit Singh Chib, who was chief guest.
He interacted with the young participating handball players and encouraged them.
The matches were officiated by the technical penal comprising Gaurav Sharma, Kartar Dogra, Dev Raj and Shekhar Dutta.
The Results:
MEN (Quarterfinals): RL Pissu Club beat Rehari Club 13-07; Sandeep Pal Club beat Bikram Club 17-04; STC beat Young Hero Club 14-02; Sampark Club beat Bahu Club 12-09.
WOMEN (Quarterfinals): Sandeep Pal Club beat Sampark Club 11-08; Bahu Club beat Rehar Club 11-05.
