The J&K Pradesh Congress (JKPCC) today held a mega road Show in Bishnah Assemble segment which was led by Former Minister and Congress candidate from Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary seat Raman Bhalla.During election campaign series of public meetings held in the border town Arnia and adjoining villages.A public meeting was organised at Arnia town during the day, while a meeting especially involving youth of this border belt was held at village Changiya in the afternoon. These meetings were attended by the Sarpanchs, Panchs, and Congress workers besides the people comprising women, youth and elders. Congress leaders led by Bhalla highlighted the local issues.Speaking during a public meeting organised in the Arnia town, Bhalla underlined the suffering of people due to heavy and indiscriminate firing recently by Pakistan causing loss of life and property, damage (fully or partially) to several houses in the border area , destruction of their standing crops, loss of live stock etc.Bhalla assured the villagers that, if elected, it will be his sincere effort to take up with the government for the redressal.
Prominent among those who participated in road shows in Bishnah and Arnia constituency include NC MLA Kamal Arora, FC Bhagat, Shashi Sharma, Dewarka Choudhary, Mohinder Bhardwaj Sarpanchs, Panchs, supporters and workers in large number. The road show passed through villages Palli Morh, Kanher(Lower and upper), Chak Avtara, Convent School Chowk, Tara Chowk, Dabbad, Deoli, Laswada, Makhanpur,Pascal,Pandoria beside others. During public meetings enroute, NC and Congress leaders emphasized the people of to ensure victory of Congress Candidate in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections with a thumping majority as that will be the defeat to communal and fascist Forces, which are hell bent upon to divide people for the sake of coming into power. While addressing series of meeting during the road show, Bhalla expressed confidence that Congress party will win the ensuing Lok Sabha Election with a thumping majority and extended his appeal to people of entire Jammu and Kashmir to exercise the franchise in favour of the Congress Candidates to ensure defeat of BJP, which is responsible for the damages caused to peace and development both in the country and State.
Former Minister conducted a door- to-door campaign in Bishnah town today and sought public support.
He had a patient hearing of local problems while holding interaction with the people irrespective of caste, creed, culture, religion or profession. He assured that he has already enlisted local issues in his agenda and his focus will be to address all their problems from the day one he is elected to the Assembly.
He reiterated that he will leave no stone unturned in carrying out the developmental works. He further added that he has dedicated himself for the welfare and development of people provided he is given a chance to serve the people. The people reposed their confidence in his leadership and offered him their full vote and support in the forthcoming parliamentary elections.
In run up to the assembly elections in 2014, the BJP leadership had evinced lot of interest towards the problem and made liberal promises to border residents but soon after the polls these turned out to be just hoax,” Bhalla said. Bhalla said frequent visits to the affected areas by BJP top leaders were just photo-ops and attempt to exploit miseries of the sufferers for votes. They were more interested in ballot and least concerned for the bullet-victims. In the post election phase, none of the elected 25 BJP MLAs got time to pay a visit to much exploited border dwellers, as they remained busy in lobbying for plump portfolios and induction in the ministry, he added.Bhalla said BJP had turned deaf and dumb on the plight of border migrants and asked as to how much time it took for planning and firming up relief and rehabilitation. “They had all the time to explore possibilities of forming the government but literally not a moment to express a word of solidarity towards the hapless residents,” he said.He described the condition of border dwellers and situation in the forward areas really bad and made a passionate appeal to all political parties to play their pro-active role in addressing their problems. “Bhalla said the people of border areas were in a pitiable condition and were craving for attention of the governments in New Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir. He regretted that nobody from Delhi visited these areas post-elections to take stock of the situation obtaining in the area.He said Congress party is fully capable to defeat the communal and fascist forces which are hell bent upon to the divide the people on religious and regional lines to serve their vested interests, but at the same time, he said people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh have realized the politics gimmicks of various groups and parties which were trying to make inorads in the valley to create confusion among the voters, but he felt confident that people will defeat their nefarious designs.He emphasized the people to remain vigilant against the political exploitation by BJP and ensure victory of Congress Party in the ensuring Lok Sabha Elections.
