KATHUA, April 04: State Football Academy (SFA) Kathua and Falote FC won their respective matches to move into the next round of the ongoing Ist Mufti Mohammad Memorial Football League of district Kathua at Sports Stadium, here today.
In the first match of the day, SFA Kathua blanked newly formed Govindsar FC 12-0 in a one sided contest. Vishavjeet Singh of SFA led the charge on GFC by scoring six goals. He was later named man of the match.
In the second match, Falote FC registered their first win against Janglote FC. Both the teams fought for the victory throughout with scores levelled at the end of first half play. However, Falote FC got the better of Janglote breaking latter’s defence in the later stages of the match. Vishal and Surjeet were the scorers from winning side while Chetan netted the ball from Janglote FC.
Later, Surjeet Singh was awarded man of the match for his outstanding performance.
The special prize of man of the match is being sponsored Hope Street Cheritable Trust and Mehta Football Academy. Ajay Sharma from Pride Associates and Rakesh Pangotra were special guests.
The matches officiated by the technical penal including Rahul, Pankaj, Vikas Bhadwal, Ranjeet, Yashpaul and Rajinder Singh. The zone is being coordinated by Rakesh Pangotra.
