A two days ‘Volleyball Tournament’ is being organised by Army at Manjakote on 10 and 11 May 2018. Four teams representing Thanamandi, Basoni, Keri and Manjakote participated with enthusiasm and zeal. The tournament is being organised in the memory of Late Havildar Mahendra Singh who made supreme sacrifice for the nation in the Line of duty while fighting the militants in the area.
Each team fielded nine players who played league matches on 10 May 2018. Team from Basoni and Manjakote reached the finals played on 11 May 2018 wherein team from Manjakote emerged victorious. Winners and Runners up were suitably rewarded. The event was witnessed by a large number of locals to include prominent members of the society. Miss Kamlesh Devi wife of Late Havildar Mahendra Singh was the chief guest on the occasion who while addressing the gathering inspired the youth to be physically though and mentally robust to take on the challenges in the future in the overall interest and development of the nation.
