Sham Lal Sharma Felicitates ISPL Players, Inspects Stadium Projects, and Promotes Youth Empowerment Through Sports

In a significant event at the Bhalwal playground, MLA Jammu North and Former Minister Mr. Sham Lal Sharma honored Ishant Sharma and Varun Kumar, two young players selected for the prestigious Indian Street Premier League (ISPL). The program was chaired by former Sarpanch Shri Rajdev Singh Ji and witnessed the presence of Divisional Sports Officer Shri Baljinder Singh, SDPO Domana Shri Mudassir Choudhary, XEN Sports Council Sanjeev Sharma, former President of Yuva Rajput Sabha Rajan Singh Happy, Mandal President Shri Rakesh Singh, Shri Narendra Singh, Kuldeep Singh, and other dignitaries.
Following the felicitation ceremony, Sharma inspected the ongoing construction of two outdoor stadiums aimed at bolstering sports infrastructure in Jammu North. The Bhalwal Outdoor Stadium is being developed with a budget of ?3 crores, and the Mishriwala Outdoor Stadium is being built with a budget of ?2 crores.
He directed the concerned officers to expedite the work and ensure it meets high-quality standards while emphasizing the importance of timely delivery to provide the youth with opportunities to engage in sports.
Sharma expressed his commitment to completing these projects on time, stating that they would play a pivotal role in nurturing local talent and encouraging youth participation in sports.
Sharma also interacted with local youth and sports enthusiasts during his visit, urging them to take full advantage of the upcoming facilities. He encouraged the youth to engage actively in sports and assured them that the administration is committed to providing the best infrastructure and opportunities. He emphasized that initiatives like these would not only enhance the region’s reputation in sports but also help in identifying and promoting talented individuals at state and national levels. He reiterated that empowering youth through sports is a vital step toward building a progressive and drug-free society.
Additionally, Sharma highlighted the need for community involvement in maintaining and supporting sports infrastructure. He called on local organizations, schools, and residents to join hands with the administration in fostering a culture of sportsmanship and teamwork. By ensuring the active participation of all stakeholders, he stated, the youth of Jammu North can lead by example and bring laurels to the region. The event concluded with a pledge to prioritize youth empowerment and establish Jammu North as a hub for sports excellence.
