Shanker Singh Chib, State Secretary JKNPP today while addressing media emphasised and appealed to all Sabhas, Organisations, NGOs to conjointly raise voice for the declaration of State holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh’s birthday. Maharaja Hari Singh signed instrument of Accession with India in 1947 after he ruled the state for 22 years. As it was a long pending demand of people of Jammu in general and Dogras in particular. His role remained commendable as he headed 577 princely states at Round Table Conference. He there said that, “I am an Indian first and then a Maharaja” Even from 1931-1947 for 16 years he remained busy in improving state in all sectors like social, political , economic and tourism. Demanding State holiday is a very genuine demand .It do not seem any disapproval from any three regions of the state because Maharaja Hari Singh really loved all his subjects irrespective of region, caste and religion.
Shanker Chib appealed all organisations to raise voice unitedly for the State holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh’s Birthday as it is only a real tribute to a towering personality who sacrificed his whole life for the people of J&K state. And he also appealed the people of J&K to forge the day as a state holiday by relegation of their work.
Among those who were present include Nirmal Kishore, Anil Rakwal, K.K Sharma, Shakti Singh, Hav. Subahsh chander, S.Pawandeep Singh and Dillawar Khan.
