Former Joint Secretary of the J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC), Shiv Kumar Sharma has been made Prabhari (head) of State Sports Cell by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Shiv’s nomination made by State BJP president, Ravinder Raina, who personally handed over the order issued in this regard at party’s Trikuta Nagar based head office, here.
“The party has assigned me the responsibility of the Sports Cell. Already engaged with the sports for decades together, it will be my endeavour to put in best of efforts to rejuvenate the organisational sports cell in J&K,” Shiv Kumar Sharma told SAN.
President of the J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and treasurer of the National Wrestling body, Shiv Kumar has expressed his thanks to the BJP State president, Ravinder Raina and general secretary, Ashok Koul for entrusting faith. “Soon, I will be sitting with the entire team of the Sports Cell and after holding deliberations and consultations with everyone associated a detailed report shall be prepared further submission to the party high command,” disclosed Shiv when asked about the future plans.
Important to mention here that Shiv Kumar besides his association with Wrestling has started a new series of lectures on sports and moral values at the school level.
Meanwhile, the BJP has also nominated Shiv Kumar Sharma as State Working Committee member in the same order issued May 20.
