For the 1st time in the history of Jammu & Kashmir after the regulation issued by the Honable Governor Shri Satya Pal Malik that there would be no electricity cut in the metered areas of Jammu.
After the issued regulation of Honable Governor in a meting chaired by the PDD Commissioner Mr Hirdesh Kumar of all the Chief Engineers the subject of no cuts of electricity in the metered areas was passed down the line till the line man.
Mr Ashok Gupta stated that even after the implementation of regulation for no cuts of electricity, why there were power cuts in the entire Jammu region.
The workers of DOGRA FRONT & SHIV SENA under the leadership of President Mr ASHOK GUPTA took out a protest in Jammu city by carrying portable fans in there hands and clay pots in there hands against the power cuts of electricity in the entire Jammu region.
Jammu has a need of 1400 MW electricity but the PDD
Is only supplying 800-900 MW. The deficit of 600 MW is causing all these cuts.
In 2018 during the inauguration of Kishan Ganga power project PM Modi stated that J&K has the resources not only to solve there electricity problem but supply electricity to the entire nation.
The hydro power projects in J&K has the capacity to produce 20,000MW electricity but the state is only producing 3,426 MW electricity.
Expressing resentment over improper supply of electricity, the protesters carried fans in their hands to show that they were of no use without electricity. Mr Gupta alleged that Jammu region is without light in sweltering hot and humid conditions. He said, the power cuts along with fluctuation and low voltage have made the lives of people miserable.
On one hand, the PDD does not ensure regular supply of electricity and drinking water, on the other hand, it acts like dictator and immediately disconnect the connections if any consumer deposits tariff little late.
Apart from power cuts, most areas in Jammu were facing heavy voltage fluctuations due to which there were reports of damage to electronic gadgets like TV, refrigerator and air-conditioners.
At last Mr ASHOK GUPTA said that the government should promote Solar Energy as our region gets good 300 days of sun and it is a cheap source of electricity.
The central government provides 30% subsidy upon the installation and the state government should also provide 10% subsidy to promote the solar energy. On the model of Himachal all the commercial enterprises should mandated to install solar panels so that they can be self sufficient.
The party workers who were present at the time of protest were Prem, Rakesh, Nikku, Bantu, Sunil, Naresh, Abhishek and various others were present.
