Shiv Sena flays Govt for not declaring Sept 23 as holiday in 2019 Calendar

Shiv Sena Bal Sahib Thackeray, J&K unit, expressed resentment against the State Government for not declaring September 23 as State holiday on account of Maharaja Hari Singh birthday.
Briefing media persons here on Wednesday, Dimpy Kohli State President Shiv Sena along with Raj Singh, Ramesh Koul said that the General Administration Department of J&K has issued a list of holidays to be observed throughout the State for year 2019 which clearly shows that there will be no holiday on September 23 in 2019. Kohli emphasized that government should declare holiday on September 23 keeping in view the aspirations of the general public.
Lambasting the Congress, NC and PDP as well, for being silent to endorse the policy of delay and deny over the subject, Kohli rued, “despite the resolution to the effect having been passed in Legislative council during the previous government only exposed the communal psyche of the Kashmir centric leaders.” He further deplored in particular then BJP Ministers who failed to get the same implemented while in power. “Jammu feels more isolated, marginalised and threatened by fundamentalist forces more than ever today. Sentiments of lakhs of people are still closely attached with Hari Singh’s visionary social reforms, stand for justice and building of solid institutions,” Kohli said.
Reiterating that September 23 should be declared a State holiday, Kohli threatened to launch a series of agitation if the government will not concede their demand.
Kohli said that he will continue to struggle for declaration of holiday on the birthday of Maharaja Singh which falls on September 23. He urged upon the Governor to immediately come up with the announcement of 23 Sept as Gazetted holiday in the State, as a tribute to the legendary ruler who was the symbol of pristine Dogra culture and heritage.
Pertinent to mention here that the resolution for declaration of the holiday on birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh has already stands approved by the Legislative Council of J and K State. Others who were present were Vikram Sharma, Sanjeev Kohli, Rahu Salaria, Sanjeev Sharma, Pawan Singh.
