Following forthcoming J&K assembly elections, Shiv Sena Hindustan J&K President Pt Rajesh Kesri today convened workers meeting at village Marhol of Arnia Block to chart the road map for assembly elections. Speaking on the occasion, Kesri said party leaders discussed various strategies to strengthen the party’s position and address the concerns of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The president reiterated the party’s commitment to the principles of dignity and development, underscoring the need to prioritize the welfare and progress of the people. Senior party leaders attended the meeting, discussing key issues and strategies to address the current political climate and strengthen the party’s position,” Kesri said. The meeting unanimously decided to contest five assembly seats in Jammu District and the name of potential candidates will be announced in couple of days.
Kesri observed that Voters need to have a free and informed choice among various policy options and candidates to determine who their post-election representatives will be.
The media are a key channel for voters, political parties, candidates, and other stakeholders to receive information related to an election. Legal frameworks should protect media freedom to report and scrutinize the workings of political parties and other actors in the electoral process, and should also address ways to ensure that parties and candidates receive an equitable access to and coverage in publicly owned media, added Kesri.
The present workers were asked to go to the people’s homes and interact with them. Prominent among those present in the meeting included Balveer Kumar, Balwant Fauji, Rajkumar Baba, Suresh Kumar, Vijay Kumar Luthra ,Mahila Chief Arnia Darshana Devi besides others.
