At the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI 2025), actor-producer Shweta Tripathi Sharma arrived not just as one of India’s most versatile performers, but as a storyteller determined to expand cinema’s emotional vocabulary. Speaking exclusively with News18 Showsha at the WAVES Cinema Bazaar, Shweta reflected on her festival journey, her approach to representation, her evolution into producing, and the emotional impact of roles like Golu in Mirzapur.“This is my first time at IFFI, and it already feels like home,” Shweta said. “I didn’t know what to expect, but my career started at festivals with films like Masaan and Haraamkhor. Festivals gave me energy and passion, and they shaped who I am. I’ll be coming here every year.” Shweta Tripathi Sharma’s presence at IFFI 2025 reflects her commitment to cinema that challenges, celebrates diversity, and provokes thought — a true storyteller pushing boundaries both on screen and behind the camera.
