JKSPYM State Level Coordinating Agency today organized one-day Awareness programforthe students oflaw school, University of Jammuon “Drug Education & Information” in collaboration with theNational Institute of Social Defence, theMinistry of Social Justice & Empowerment,Govt. of India.Program was organized to aware students aboutthe drugs/psychoactive substances, its harmful effects, different categories of drugs and preventive measures.Dr. Seema Rohmetra,Director, Law School, University of Jammu appreciated the efforts of team SLCA J&K for organizing this Awareness program as J&K UT has now become vulnerable for drugs and programs like these are the need of an hour.
She presented the warm welcome to resource persons, SLCA team and students. Around 100 students participated in the program.
Program initiated with the introduction of State Level Coordinating Agency and JKSPYMorganization followed by the brief introduction about Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan campaign (NMBA) by Ms. Pallavi Singh, Program Director, SLCA J&K.Program started with the lecture presentation byDr. Vinay Kumar, Sr. Assistant Professor from Dept. of Social Work, Central University of Jammu,and he enlighten the participants about the “Drugs and drug addiction” with the help of PowerPoint presentation.Then, resource person Adv. Kapil Sharma from High Court of Jammupresented a lecture presentation on”NDPS Act.”Program included quiz, brainstorming activities, and interaction sessions with students.Program concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms. Kimi Padhiar, SLCA official. After the program, refreshment and pamphlets weredistributed among all the participants present on the occasion.
