Smart City Project grounds before its take off in Jammu: Vikram Malhotra

Apni Party, General Secretary, Vikram Malhotra said that Smart City Project has been grounded in Jammu before its take off with the continuous water logging, unclean lanes and choked drains.
Malhotra was speaking at a party programme at Subash Nagar which was organized by Provincial Secretary Dr Rohit Gupta. In this programme retired Indian air force personal Vijay Gurtu among Mangal Singh Chib – who had contested as independent candidate in Jammu Municipal Corporation elections from ward number 26, Daljeet Singh Chib, Sikandar Singh Chib, Kishore Singh Chib, Sukhdev Singh, Tarsem Sing, Sahil Kumar, Mannu Kumar Bandra, Mohit Kumar, Vishal Singh Jamwal, Ashu Dhar and Vicky joined Apni Party.
The joining took place in presence of senior leaders of the party. Speaking on the occasion, Malhotra said that the monsoon season has exposed JMC and the prestigious Smart City.
“Jammu City will not develop with a poor drainage system and lack of cleanliness. The garbage can be seen scattered around many localities of Old City. The BJP Corporators have failed to deliver on the promises which they had made with the people. The failure of JMC is the failure of BJP,” he said.
He said that the situation is worse in peripheral areas out of the municipal limits of Jammu District. “The roads are in shabby condition, and people are suffering due to irregular water and unscheduled electricity cuts,” he added.
Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh, who welcomed the newcomers into the Party, said that the people are joining the party due to its policies and programmes.
“We are against the forces who want to divide J&K. It was the reason that the people are connected with the Party and its policy of equal development in both the Regions,” said Manjit Singh.
He said that there is a common demand of the people from both the regions of J&K viz restoration of Statehood. “The people of Jammu as well as Kashmir united for the restoration of statehood,” said Manjit Singh and said that their struggle for restoration of statehood will continue.
He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered because of the hollow slogans. “These political parties put one region against the other and played their negative role in creating differences among the people of two regions,” he said.
“Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari is the only leader who worked for the people when other leaders became spectators. Altaf Bukhari ensured that the property rights and jobs are protected for the domicile holders of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
He directed the leaders and workers of the Party to work among them and highlight their demands. Earlier, Provincial Secretary, Dr Rohit Gupta in his address highlighted various developmental issues of the area.
He said that the people are still facing problems in getting basic amenities like water, electricity and road connectivity. On this occasion, Apni Trade Union President, Ajaz Kazmi also spoke on various issues.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion includes District President Rural-A Jammu, Pushp Kumar Uppal, State SC Coordinator, Bodh Raj Bhagat, Vice President Youth Wing J&K, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, Vice President Youth Wing, Youth Coordinator, Vipul Bali, Joginder Singh, Provincial Secretary Youth Wing, Sushail Khajuria, District President SC, Vijay Mangotra, Provincial President Trade Union, Raj Kumar Sharma, District President Trade Union, Jammu, Anirudh Vasist, Surdeesh Rana, Provincial Coordinator Vaibhav Mattoo, State Coordinator Kashmiri Migrants, Jammu, Vinod Pandita, Sohan Singh Soni and others.
