Annual sports meet of Gurukul Charan Paduka, here got underway at Shrine Board’s Sports Complex. The inaugural day witnessed Volleyball competition wherein Niharika defeated Trikuta in straight sets in the opener.
The second match won by Saraswati beating Vaishnavi 2-0 while Niharika outplayed Kalika 2-0 in another game played today. As per the reports reaching here, the final has been scheduled for tomorrow.
The competition in other two events of Table Tennis and Basketball shall also start tomorrow at the same venue.
Earlier, the event declared open by Administrator Gurukul, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), Dr Arvind Karwani.
Meanwhile, Director Sports, SMVDSB, Ashok Kumar informed that the second phase of the sports meet of Gurukul shall be held in the month of September in the disciplines of Yoga, Kabaddi and Athletics.
Among others present in the opening function were Principal Gurukul, Rajesh Sharma, Assistant Manager, Rajinder Magotra and Pritam Dass.
