SMVDU Researcher attends National Scholar’s Confluence, Leh

While participating at National Scholar’s Confluence, Ms. Ayushi, Research Scholar, at School of Languages & Literature, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, got a chance to attend a function graced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi who paid a tribute to 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpoche at the Valedictory of the birth Centenary celebrations. The National Scholars’ Confluence (16-18 May’ 18)themed on “Bahujan Hitay Bahujan Sukhay Lokanukampaya & Geo-Strategy of Himalayan Region” was organized by CIBS, Choglamsar, Leh, Ladakh. TheConfluenceaimed at highlighting Kushok Bakula’s contribution in the development of Ladakh, sponsored by Jammu Kashmir Study Centre (JKSC) in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) and Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR). Further, during the Inaugural Ceremony, J&K Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta was the Chief Guest, and Prof. S. R. Bhat, Chairperson, Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR) presided the session.
Others dignitaries also graced the event, including Mongolian Ambassador to India G. Ganbold; Minister for Ladakh Affairs Chhering Dorje; Nehru Memorial Library Director Shakti Sinha; ICPR member secretary Prof. Rajneesh Shukla; JKSC trustee Anil Goel; India Foundation Director Alok Bansal and Dr. Mayank Shekhar from IGNCA. Ms. Ayushi, the research scholar, is working with Dr. Amitabh V. Dwivedi on lesser known Western Pahari languages, and it was an enriching experience for her.
