SMVDU Researchers present papers in International Seminar at BHU

Ms.SubahGautam and Ms. AkankshaBadyal, Researchers at School of Languages and Literature, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University attended a Two-day International Seminar on ‘The Future of Humanities: Challenges and Prospects’ organized by Department of English, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (30th-31st March, 2018).Ms. SubahGautam, working with Dr. Anruag Kumar, presented her paper titled “Sita in a new avatar; Reconstructing the Image of Sita in Amish’s Sita-Warrior of Mithila”,whereas Ms. AkankshaBadyal, working with Dr. Anurag Kumar and Dr. Amitabh V Dwivedi, expressed her views on “An Epistemic Voyage of the Downtrodden in the Regional Minority Narrative”. More than 200 selected delegates attended the seminar across the country and abroad. The seminar addressed the fundamental question: Is Humanities really in crisis and, if so, what are the reasons, and the solution to the crisis? Ms. Subah and Ms. AkankshaBadyal are pursuing their research in the School of Languages and Literature, at SMVD University in the area of Indian Mythology and Post feminism respectively.
