SMVDU Scholar presents a Talk at Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy

KATRA, MAY 25:
In an interaction with the personnel at Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy, Udhampur, Ms. Surbhi Sharma, Research Scholar at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), presented a talk on ‘Computer Security and Window Forensics’.
During the talk, she discussed how to identify different cyber attacks and provide effective countermeasures to deal with them. Also, issues related to identify and seize digital evidences from the crime scenes, and to recover data from computer and hard disks was discussed.
Her lecture also included topics, such as cyber evidences acquisition steps, cloning of evidences, Window Systems and Different Artefacts in Digital Forensics, including Windows Registry, Windows Event Logs and Window Forensics Tools, etc.
Ms. Surbhi Sharma is working with Dr. Baijnath Kaushik, Head of theSchool, and the research scholar had a wonderful experience, she further said.
