Social Activist Narinder Sharma on Friday celebrated New Year with children of Bal Ashram at RS Pura and also took stock of the functioning and facilities being provided to the inmates of the said institution. Interacting with the inmates, Sharma enquired about the basic amenities besides boarding, lodging, health and medicare facilities being made available to them.
He took a round of the premises and suggested some improvements. Sharma on the occasion distributed eatables among children of Bal Ashram.In his New Year message, Sharma said that every person on the path of life needs other human beings to progress with the help of each other. The conscious people in society should have the interest of the entire society than his own.

The Covid-19 pandemic has left child care homes run by non-governmental organisations (NGOs) high and dry. With no sign of the situation easing, donations are drying up and the number of children in such institutions is seeing a steady decline as all activities come to a standstill, added Sharma. Earlier, people would donate flour, pulses and ghee to commemorate a family occasion but after the pandemic all such activity has been suspended. As social remittances have stopped, there is an urgent need to pool in funds to keep the institute running, maintained Sharma.
